SONOMA, Calif. - In an effort to help out youth baseball in their hometown, the Sonoma Stompers - Presented by Virginia Dare Winery - have offered a sizable donation to Sonoma Valley Babe Ruth, a league for players ages 13-15 that prepares them for baseball at the high school level.

With their success over the 4th of July weekend at People's Home Equity Ballpark, the Stompers will donate $2,000 to SVBR, which will be used to help the league out in 2017. SVBR plays most of their games at Arnold Field, the same field that hosts the Stompers every summer.

"The Stompers are stewards of the game of baseball and want to promote health, fitness and good sportsmanship amongst all of the children in the valley," says Stompers general manager Theo Fightmaster, "Babe Ruth is a great organization in which to do that, and we're proud to support them."

The Stompers will return home on Friday, July 8 at 6 p.m. for a six game homestand to finish off the 1st half of the 2016 season, as Sonoma hosts the Vallejo Admirals. Tickets are available online at StompersBaseball.com and can be purchased before any home game. For more information, please call (707) 938-7277 or email the team at info@StompersBaseball.com.
