Stingers Add Habimana, Burrell Ahead of Playoffs

EDMONTON, AB- The Edmonton Stingers of the CEBL have announced the signing of Canadian guard Ntore (pronounced NOR-eh) Habimana and American forward Trashon Burrell. The signings come with three games left in the Stingers regular season as the team vies for playoff positioning.

"Ntore brings something we don't have in a long guard that can create for himself and his teammates," said head coach and general manner Jermaine Small. Having coached Burrell in the BCLAs, Small also had high praise for the forward. "He was our best player and someone I know we can count on when the stakes are high. It's going to be nice having him back in the Stingers uniform as we prepare for the playoffs."

"To be able to come back to Canada and be part of such a decorated organization is an honour," said Habimana. "I am very excited to hit the court and fight with these guys.

After graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University, Habimana played for he Rawandan national team (eligible through his father's birthright) and for REG of the African continental league the BAL. Burrell spent time with the Stingers through the first window of the BCLAs where he was the leading scorer (18.5 points per game). With four years of NBA G-League under his belt, he is ready to make an impact in the remaining three regular season games.
