Steve Mason Named ADT CHL Goalie of the Week

Toronto - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Steve Mason of the London Knights is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending October 21, 2007. Mason posted three consecutive victories last week recording a 1.33 goals-against-average and a .963 save percentage.
On Thursday, October 18th, Mason turned aside 32 shots leading the Knights to a 6-3 victory over the Niagara IceDogs. The following night, he stopped 32 shots en route to a 6-1 win over the Erie otters. On Sunday, October 21st, the 19 year-old native of Oakville, Ontario earned a shutout victory in a 3-0 defeat of the Oshawa Generals. He was named the games first star.
Mason was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the third round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Kevin Armstrong of the Spokane Chiefs was the Western Hockey League nominee with a 2-0 record, a 1.00 goals-against-average and a .950 save percentage. Kevin Desfosses of the Quebec Remparts was the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League nominee with a 2-0 record, a 1.44 goals-against-average and a .956 save percentage.
