SteelHounds home opener set for November 4th

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO -Youngstown SteelHounds General Manager, George Manias, announced today that the SteelHounds will open the home portion of their Central Hockey League (CHL) schedule on Friday, November 4th when they host the Oklahoma City Blazers in the Youngstown Convocation Center. The two teams will meet again the following night on Saturday, November 5th concluding the SteelHounds opening weekend which will be sponsored by media partner WFMJ -TV 21.

"I encourage the Mahoning Valley region to mark your calendars," said Manias. "November 4th & 5th will be a weekend to remember. The SteelHounds will take the ice for the first time in team history and I guarantee that the festivities will be entertaining and memorable. SteelHounds hockey will be fast-paced, action packed, physical and the atmosphere will be energetic, electrifying and carnival like! Downtown Youngstown will be the place to be this winter!"

The Blazers franchise is one of the most storied in the CHL competing in over 850 games posting over 500 victories and winning two Ray Miron Cup championships (1995-96 & 2000-01).

The SteelHounds will play 64 total games this season including 32 in the Convocation Center. The regular season will begin away from home on October 21st at a TBD site. The SteelHounds remaining schedule will be available within the next two weeks.
