Youngstown SteelHounds News Release

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO -Youngstown SteelHounds General Manager, George Manias, announced today that the team has signed Crusherainus Carnivorous, a.k.a. Crusher, to a lifetime contract to serve as the mascot for the SteelHounds. The pooch was unveiled today at the Country Inn & Suites Youngstown West during a SteelHounds press conference.

"Crusher has made his commitment to the SteelHounds to be an active participant in the community and to be involved in all of our efforts helping local schools and charitable affairs," said Manias. "Although off the ice he is kind and compassionate, on the ice he tends to be a bit of a menace to the visiting teams and fans."

Crusher was found at the Youngstown Convocation Center worksite by Manias several weeks ago abandoned and without a home. Once taken in by the SteelHounds, Crusher has shown great spirit and will be a natural representing the SteelHounds on the ice, in the stands and in the community.

When asked about his thoughts for the upcoming season, Crusher said, "GRRR-RUFF".

The orange, floppy-eared canine may appear soft and cuddly but has shown quite a propensity to be a touch mischievous and an agitator. Crusher's main hobby has been growling at mailmen and chasing moving cars. His diet consists of Brahma meat and Mudbugs.

Crusher will call the Youngstown Convocation Center home this fall when the SteelHounds begin play in the Central Hockey League in October. For season ticket information, contact the SteelHounds at (330) 747-PUCK (7825).
