
Steel Complete Weekend Series Sweep of Kenai River

(Chippewa Falls, WI)- The Chippewa Steel carried the momentum from Friday night over to Saturday as they completed the weekend series sweep with a 5-0 victory.
Chippewa got on the scoreboard in the first period with a goal from Brendan Ogle and took the 1-0 advantage into the first intermission.
The Steel took over the second period, scoring three times. Connor Szmul recorded his 4th goal on the season which was assisted by Eau Claire native Dawson Schwengler and Killian Kiecker-Olson. Ryan Kerchoff later found the back of the net for his first goal on the season which was assisted by Michael Black and Ian Famulak. The team hat trick was completed in the second period with a goal from John Druskinis assisted by Braden Lindstrom and Brendan Ogle.
Braiden Dorfman rounded out the scoring on Saturday night with a third-period goal to make a 5-0 final in front of an energized crowd.
Trent Burnham recorded the shutout, stopping all 27 shots he faced.
The Steel will return to action next Friday, October 11th at 7:10 vs the Springfield Jr. Blues.
