
Steel Come up Short to Wilderness

Chippewa Steel News Release
Although the Steel outshot the Minnesota Wilderness in the first period, the Wilderness came out strong scoring the first two goals. Jacob Herter with an assist from Oula Kuure and Dylan Johnson got the first goal and the second Wilderness goal came from Dylan Johnson with assists from Ashton Altmann and Oula Kuure.
The Steel held off the Wilderness and countered with a goal from Austin Mikesch assisted by Matt Clark to put them behind only one goal going into the 3rd period. Strong defensive play from both teams kept the 3rd period scoreless.
Between the pipes for the pipes for the Steel was Josh Langford with 15 out of 17 saves. For the Wilderness was Ryan Fanti with 40 out of 41 saves.
The Steel are back at home Saturday November 24th, the Steel will host a fundraiser following the recent tragedy. A portion of each ticket sold will be donated to the Girl Scout Troop #3055. The Chippewa Steel along with the Chippewa Youth Hockey Association will also donate all proceeds of the Scheels Chuck-A-Puck contest which takes place during the 2nd intermission. A matching donation will be made by individual members of the Chippewa Youth Hockey Association.
