Gary, IN-The Gary Steelheads have added two more players to the 2008 roster. The team has announced that Evinn Herring and Phil Watson will be Steelheads this season.
Herring, 6'3", will be making his professional debut with the Steelheads on the heels of a stellar career at Calumet College of St. Joseph. Herring was a first team all conference (CCAC) performer his final two seasons at Calumet. As a senior (2006-'07), Herring averaged 3.14 made three pointers per contest en route to 20.4 points per game and NAIA All-American honors.
Watson, 6'3", earned first team all conference (CCAC) three consecutive seasons at St. Xavier University, finishing with the third best career assist total in school history. During Watson's senior campaign (2005-'06) he led the Cougars in points (14.2), assists (5.5), and steals (2.0) per game. Watson played professionally last season with the Chicago Rockstars of the ABA.
