Steamwheelers Lineman To \'Steak Out\' Port Byron

The Quad City Steamwheelers af2 standout QB Tony Zimmerman is planning to "Steak Out" Port Byron, Ill. Next Thursday night, May 15th at 7:00 p.m. with some of his closest friends, the "over one-ton" lineman from the Steamwheelers. The "Big Boys" who protect "Zim" as he is known by his protectors will host a steak dinner at The Lodge Restaurant overlooking the Mississippi River in Port Byron.

The "Ton-of-Fun" includes former Iowa Hawkeyes and current ‘Wheelers lineman Corey Brown, 6'6", 314 lb. Toledo standout Michael Schaeffer, former United Township High School and Western Illinois graduate Justin Thies, four-year Steamwheelers veteran Damon Williams, former Davenport West all-Stater and University of Iowa standout O.J. Payne, and former Western Illinois standout Cory Bern.

They will be joined by the Steamwheelers two fullbakckers who provide ‘Zim' with additional protection in the backfield, four-year Steamwheelers veteran, Westmer High School star and Knox College all-American Josh Fourdyce. Also joining Fourdyce and the others will be first year Steamwheelers fullback Asa Francis, who is reportedly gaining fans as a human demolition specialist.

The players will then grill up there own by judging steaks while they visit with the fans in attendance. The Lodge is located just off Highway 61 at 708 South Main Street on the south edge of Port Byron.

The players will sign autographs and give away some door prizes including great tickets and autographed shirts and hats.

"This is a great way to repay some guys who don't always get enough respect for the great job they do protecting me," Zimmerman said of the "Steak Out.

"Lodge owner Gary King and his wife Karrie may be wondering whether they will have enough meat on hand to take care of the players and all the customers who will come out to visit them next Thursday night.
