
Steamers to play three road games this weekend

St. Louis, MO, January 26, 2005 -The St. Louis Steamers will travel to Chicago on Friday night for the first of three road games this weekend. The Steamers will then play back-to-back games against the Kixx in Philadelphia on Saturday and Sunday. The game on Saturday at Philadelphia will be televised at 6:05 p.m. on WB-11. The Steamers will wear their orange home jerseys for Saturday's tilt against the Kixx. The Steamers game against the Kixx on Sunday was originally scheduled for Jan. 22 but was postponed due to inclement weather. Game time on Sunday is slated for 4:05 p.m. CST.
St. Louis is coming off a 6-3, loss to the Kansas City Comets last Friday night at Savvis Center. It snapped St. Louis' four-game home winning streak. This weekend will mark the first time this season the Steamers will play three games in three days.
Tonight's game marks the third of eight matches between the clubs this season. The Steamers have posted a 2-0 record against the Storm this season, winning both games at Savvis Center by one goal. St. Louis has registered a 5-3 mark on the road this season. The Steamers are giving up the second least amount of goals per game, only giving up an average of 5.2 a game.
Saturday's match will mark the second of four contests between the Steamers and Kixx this season. St. Louis has posted a 1-0 record against the Kixx this season. Nate Houser notched the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Steamers over Philadelphia in the first match.
