Washington Stealth News Release

EVERETT, Wash - The Washington Stealth and Everett Silvertips are taking a break from their National Lacrosse League and Western Hockey League schedules to benefit area youth sports organizations in tonight's inaugural Comcast Arena Classic in Everett.

In the 7 p.m. exhibition lacrosse game, the Stealth and Silvertips will combine forces on separate teams all in the name of helping local youth sports organizations raise much needed funding for new equipment, playing time and scholarship programs.

The NLL-format game includes a two-point handicap for Silvertips hockey players, many of whom will be handling a lacrosse stick for the first time. Stealth players will be awarded one point for each goal scored.

Everett Mayor Ray Stephanson will be joined by Everett City Councilmember Scott Murphy and Everett PFD President Gary Weikel for the ceremonial ball-drop in the first-ever youth sports benefit at Comcast Arena.

Nearly 4,000 tickets have been distributed to area youth sports organizations including the Everett Boys and Girls Club, Everett Youth Hockey, Seattle Junior Hockey and a dozen youth lacrosse organizations. The clubs are selling the tickets with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting their individual organizations.

Over $15,000 has been raised to date.

General admission tickets are available at the door and are priced at just $10 a pair with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting area youth groups.
