Houston Stealth News Release

The two-time defending NWBL Pro Cup Champion Houston Stealth set to face the Colorado Chill at Autry Court on Thursday, January 29th at 7pm.

This will be the first time Houston fans have had a chance to see Ruth Riley, the current WNBA Finals MVP, as her WNBA team the Detroit Shock did not travel to Houston during the 2003 season.

The Stealth is coming off a 7 point victory on Sunday over their I-45 rivals the Dallas Fury. Tina Thompson scored a season high 24 points in the victory. Alicia Thompson added 14 points and Kelley Gibson added 11. The veteran of the team, Tammy Jackson, saw 12 minutes of action in the contest where she proved once again why she is "The Legend" with her solid play on both ends of the floor.

This will be the second meeting of these clubs this season as the Stealth started the 2004 NWBL season with a visit to Colorado. The Chill won that contest with a score of 83-72.

Houston Stealth: After three games, Tina Thompson is currently second in the league in scoring, averaging 21.7 points per game, with a field goal percentage of 44.6%. Tamicha Jackson leads the league in field goal percentage at 54.5% and is first in the league in steals with 3.7 per game.

Colorado Chill: Coming off a Tuesday night home victory of 69-46 over the Springfield Spirit where neither team had decent shooting percentages for the game, Colorado averaged 33.3% from the field where as the Spirit averaged 30.4%. But do not let that number influence your opinion of the Chill. They are lead by WNBA guards Edna Campbell and Helen Darling and the powerhouse Ruth Riley is their inside anchor.

University of Rice, Autry Court: The Rice ticket office is located in the northeast corner of Autry Court, which is most accessible from Entrance 8 off University Boulevard.

Tickets: Individual game tickets are on sale on the internet at http://www.nwbl.com/stealth/tickets or at the Rice ticket office an hour before the game. Tickets are $15 for reserved, priority seating, $12 for reserved seating, $8 for adult general admission and $5 for child general admission.
