Wichita Stealth News Release
Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth are coming home to the friendly confines of the Kansas Coliseum this Saturday night May 29th to face the Laredo Law. The Stealth are coming off of a three game road stretch that saw them drop two consecutive games. The Stealth defeated the Law on April 10th at the Kansas Coliseum by a score of 44-22.
The Stealth have a new starting quarterback this week in former Kansas State Wildcat Jonathan Beasley. Beasley has seen limited action for the Stealth this year, but is ready for the challenge. "I just have to go out there and play my game," said Beasley.
The Stealth will have several other new faces when they take the field on Saturday night. They include former Law offensive/defensive lineman Anthony Knutson (6-3, 290, Liberty), wide receiver/defensive back Norman Mason (5-10, 185, Kentucky) and offensive/defensive lineman Colin Bryant (6-5, 270, Mankato State).
The Stealth will face two familiar faces when they see the Law tomorrow night. Law wide receiver/linebacker Melvin Phillips spent seven games with the Stealth last season and Law offensive/defensive lineman John Amaro was in training camp with Stealth this season.
The Law enters the game on a two game winning streak. They have defeated the Tulsa Talons and the Rio Grande Valley Dorados the past two weeks. Quarterback Rocky Perez leads the Law. Perez is 67-of-126 for 975 yards and 18 touchdowns so far this season and his main target is P.J. Winston. Winston has caught 38 balls for 596 yards and ten touchdowns.
