Wichita Stealth News Release
Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth today announced that they have been assigned offensive/defensive lineman Cliff Holloman (6-3, 270, Kansas State) and fullback/linebacker Daren Williams (6-1, 250, Nebraska). Both players played for the Stealth during the 2003 season.
This season will mark Holloman's fourth year in areanfootball2, having played for the Tulsa Talons in 2001 and 2002 and with the Stealth last year. Holloman has played in 32 games in af2, compiling 36 tackles (21 unassisted), three tackles for loss, and eight sacks. Following the 2003 af2 season, Holloman was signed by the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League (AFL), but was released prior to the start of the regular season. Cliff is a Wichita native (Northwest High School) and the older brother of newly assigned Stealth player, Ervin Holloman. Cliff played college football at Garden City Community College and Kansas State University.
Daren Williams returns to the Stealth for the 2004 season, after having his 2003 season cut short due to an injury. Williams played in ten games last season, rushing the ball 30 times for 137 yards, which tied him for the all-time lead in rushing yardage in Stealth history. Defensively, he tallied 18 tackles (13 unassisted) with one sack and one interception. Daren played college football at the University of Nebraska from 1989-92. During the 1992 season, he played in 11 games and was the Huskers' 11th leading tackler with 36 stops (11 solo). Williams finished his Nebraska career with 21 games played, 70 tackles (20 unassisted and 50 assisted) and two Orange Bowl appearances.
In other roster moves, the Stealth have placed offensive specialist Michael Dritlein on short term injured reserve (which means he will miss the first two games of the regular season and they have placed offensive/defensive lineman Noel Scarlett on the refused to report list.
