
Stealth Lose and Are Eliminated By Sting, 16-13

GLENDALE, ARIZ. - The San Jose Stealth (5-10) needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, unfortunately for them they gave up a season high 16 goals and fell to the Arizona Sting (7-8), 16-13.
The Stealth were eliminated from playoff contention with the loss and the Sting will be moving on to the postseason.
Three players scored hat tricks for the Sting, and former Stealth forward Curt Malawsky scored two goals and one assist.
Arizona scored six straight goals in the first quarter to take an early 8-4 lead, which they would never relinquish. After each team exchanged two goals in the second quarter, the Sting lead going into halftime 10-6.
The Stealth were able to outscore the Sting in the third quarter 3-2, to leave them three goals down entering the final quarter.
San Jose cut the deficit to two goals in the fourth quarter when Luke Wiles scored with eight minutes left in the quarter, but the Sting were able to maintain their lead and secure the win.
San Jose was lead by three different players who scored six points: Luke Wiles (three goals and three assists), Derek Malawsky (two goals and four assists) and Cam Sedgwick (two goals and four assists).
Anthony Cosmo, who entered the game with a league leading 9.99 Goals Average Against, had 38 saves in the loss.
