
Stealth hosts Blaze Thursday Night

The Houston Stealth (4-3) returns to Rice University's Autry Court Thursday, February 12, to host the Chicago Blaze (4-3). The teams are tied with Birmingham and Dallas for first place in the National Women's Basketball League (NWBL) standings. Houston looks to end its two-game losing streak Thursday night. Tip off is set for 7:30 pm.
The Blaze defeated Houston on Sunday 103-84 in Chicago. Both teams had five players score in double figures in the ball game. Kelley Gibson's 20 points led the Stealth while Chicago's Taquilla Allen scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds led the Blaze.
The Stealth is the two-time defending National Women's Basketball League (NWBL) Champion. The Stealth plays its home games at Rice University's Autry Court. Individual game tickets are on sale on the Internet at http://www.nwbl.com/stealth/tickets or at the Rice ticket office an hour before the game. Tickets are $15 for reserved, priority seating, $12 for reserved seating, $8 for adult general admission and $5 for child general admission.
The NWBL is a six-team league that features 27 active WNBA players. The NWBL is in its fourth season with six teams expanding the United States: the Birmingham Power (Birmingham, AL), the Chicago Blaze (Chicago, IL), the Colorado Chill (Ft. Collins, CO), the Dallas Fury (Dallas, TX), the Houston Stealth (Houston, TX), and the Springfield Spirit (Springfield, MA). The season runs through March 23. A four-team, single-elimination playoff begins on April 1, 2004.
