
Stealth defense fuels victory

Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth returned home and breaks two game win streak with a 64-34 victory over the Laredo Law in front of 2,638 rowdy fans at the Kansas Coliseum. In his af2 debut, Stealth quarterback Jonathan Beasley finished the night 12-of-22 for 196 yards and six touchdowns to lead the Stealth to their second highest scoring game of the season. Stealth offensive specialist Damon Thompson had five catches for 109 yards and four touchdowns on his way to earning Baby Ruth Real Deal Player of the Game honors.
The Stealth got up on the Law early with an eight play 43-yard drive capped off by a 16-yard pass from Beasley to Anthony Griffin putting the Stealth up 7-0. The Law would counter with a 15-yard pass from Rocky Perez to P.J. Winston tying the game at 7. The Stealth would cap off the first quarter scoring with a 25-yard touchdown reception by Thompson giving the Stealth a 13-7 first quarter lead.
The Law would tie the game at 13 at the start of the second quarter on a Perez one yard run. The Stealth would counter with two scores. The first on a three-yard run by Brian Livingston giving the Stealth a 20-13 lead and the second on a 13-yard interception return for a touchdown by Christopher Highshaw putting the Stealth up 26-13. The Law would end the second quarter scoring on a Martino Theus two yard reception from Perez, leaving the halftime score 26-21 in favor of Wichita.
After a big third quarter from Thompson that saw the Stealth go up 45-34 after three, the Stealth shut out the Law in the fourth quarter and rung up three more touchdowns to cruise to a 64-34 victory.
The Stealth swept the game awards in this contest. Along with Thompson, Brian Livingston earned the U.S. Army Ironman of the Game award, and Christopher Highshaw grabbed the ADT Defensive Award.
The Stealth improve to 6-2 on the season, 4-0 at home, and the Law drop to 2-6.
