
Stealth assigned two more players for 2003

Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth announced today that they have been assigned defensive specialist Sam Singleton (5-10, 185, University of Texas-El Paso) and offensive/defensive lineman Chris Newton (6-3, 290, Cisco (Tex.) Junior College). These are the second and third players assigned to the Stealth for the 2003 season.
Singleton was a two-sport athlete at the University of Texas-El Paso (1998-2001), participating in both football and track. Singleton finished second in the 400 meters at the 2001 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Outdoor Championships and also led the 4x400 relay to a runner-up finish at the 2001 WAC championships both indoor and outdoor. On the football field, Singleton amassed 15 and a half tackles over his career at UTEP with two interceptions and four pass break-ups. In addition to his defensive duties, Singleton added to the Miners special teams squad by returning kicks. During his career, he returned 18 kicks for 293 yards.
