-SPIKES BACK HOME TO START SET WITH JAMMERS: After a two-day break for the New York-Penn League All-Star Game turned into three thanks to a cancellation due to rain in Aberdeen, the State College Spikes come back home to restart Pinckney Division play against the Jamestown Jammers. Tonight's game is the first of a three-game set, and the first game of the Spikes' six-game homestand.

-LAST SPIKES GAME: Tyler Waldron, Ryan Beckman and Brooks Pounders combined to hold the IronBirds hitless until David Anderson led off the ninth inning with a double, and Kelson Brown's leaping catch for the final out preserved a 1-0 win for the Spikes last night at Ripken Stadium. Gerlis Rodriguez knocked in the game's only run with an RBI triple in the sixth inning. Waldron did not allow a hit or walk in five innings of work to earn the win.

-SPIKES TURN TO VON ROSENBERG: Right-hander Zack Von Rosenberg makes his team-leading 12th start of the year tonight for State College, after originally being scheduled to start on Sunday in Aberdeen. Although Von Rosenberg leads the league in losses, he has allowed just two runs in his last 20 innings on the hill, for an ERA of 0.90 since July 26.

-HODGES TO THE HILL FOR JAMMERS: Jamestown will send right-hander Josh Hodges out to start the first game of the three-game series. Hodges has faced the Spikes twice this season, allowed a total of 11 runs (eight earned) in seven innings of work. The New Albany, MS native tossed four scoreless and hitless innings last time out against Connecticut.

-SPIKES MAKE MARK AT ALL-STAR GAME: Matt Curry, Adalberto Santos and Jhonathan Ramos all helped in the National League effort on Tuesday, but the American League scored three runs in the eighth to take a 4-3 win in the NYPL All-Star Game at Staten Island. Curry started at first base, while Santos reached base via walk and Ramos threw a scoreless sixth.
