Stars to Begin 11-Game, 10-Day Home Stand

(Huntsville, AL) - The Huntsville Stars will begin an 11-game home stand with the Mobile BayBears (Arizona Diamond- backs) and the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (Cincinnati Reds) on Tuesday, August 13th . The series will be the longest home stand of the season. Here's what's on tap:

Dew for Tuesday, Car Survivor by Fiat of Huntsville

Fans that present Mountain Dew bottle caps will receive $2 parking and tickets, then enjoy $2 hot dogs, peanuts, popcorn, 16-ounce fountain Pepsi products and draft beers. Dew for Tuesday is brought to you by Buffalo Rock. Car Survivor IV, presented by Fiat of Huntsville, will begin during the game; the four finalists will be present to throw out first pitches. The last person in the car will win it.

School Spirit Night, Fiat Friday, National Airborne Day

Students of Randolph High HS, Bob Jones HS, Pope John Paul II Catholic HS, and Huntsville HS that wear school gear will receive $4 admission. Fans that drive a Fiat to the game will receive free parking courtesy of Fiat of Huntsville. It's also National Airborne Day; members of the 82d Airborne Association will conduct a membership drive during the game.

Saturday, August 17th, 6:43 PM vs the Mobile BayBears

McDonald's Youth Sports Night, Alzheimer's Paint the Park Purple Night

All kids 12 and under wearing a youth sports team or scout uniform will receive free admission to Saturday's game courtesy of north Alabama McDonald's restaurants. The Huntsville Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association will host Paint the Park Purple Night, an annual event to educate the public about Alzheimer's disease. An in-game auction to benefit the Alzheimer's Association will be conducted on the main concourse.

Local Small Business Buy-Out Night

Because of a rain out at Pensacola earlier this season, this game has been changed to a doubleheader. Gates will open at 4:00 pm for two seven-inning games. Local businesses around the greater Huntsville area have purchased tickets for their customers - check out the Stars Twitter and Facebook accounts for a complete list of participating businesses.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Businessperson's Special (Day Game)

We are searching for an employer to nominate an outstanding employee who will live Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The lucky fan will get a day off from work, select two friends to join him or her, get a ride to the Huntsville Museum of Art, lunch at the Cotton Row restaurant, a ride to the ballpark to throw out the game's honorary first pitch, watch the game from the cheap seats, and more. For everybody else it'll be our last mid-week businessperson's special game of the 2013 season. Gates open at noon.
