Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Lincoln used a six-goal explosion to get by Waterloo 7-4 on Friday.
Waterloo scored first when Tim Gilbert set up a Craig Smith goal at 5:19 of the opening period. Lincoln tied the game and pulled ahead in the second before a Blake Kessel goal made it a 2-2 game. The Stars scored the next five goals before the second intermission.
Waterloo rallied in the third but could not overcome the deficit. Brett Barta and James Marcou found the net, but the Black Hawks would come no closer.
Waterloo gats another shot at the Stars at 7:05 Saturday.
