BLAINE, Mn. - Four different players scored goals on Saturday morning in suburban Minneapolis, leading the Traverse City North Stars to a 4-2 win over Fairbanks in the North American Hockey League Showcase finale for both teams. The win moved the North Stars to 3-1-0, claiming six of eight points in Blaine, for the club's most successful Showcase mark.
Phil Wendecker, Jarrod LaBelle, Kyle Bonis, and David Johnstone scored for TC on Saturday to front the netkeeping of C.J. Motte, who stopped 35 of 37 shots.
The North Stars (3-1-0) return to North Division action next week, visiting marquette on Friday before the Sept. 27 home opener at Centre ICE arena against those same Rangers.
