Stars Aim to Pink out the AT&T Center During 14th Annual Breast

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Stars will host their 14th annual Breast Health Awareness Night on Friday, Aug. 9 at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center. The team will play the Dallas Wings on the Stars pink court - the only of its kind in the WNBA - while wearing pink jerseys, which will be auctioned off to benefit local breast cancer charities. A portion of proceeds from BHA ticket packages - which start at just $25 and include a ticket and a pink t-shirt - will also go to the cause.

WNBA Breast Health Awareness Week has been a premier initiative of the league since its inception 20 years ago. In support of BHA Week, all 12 WNBA teams will host a BHA Night that feature in-game presentations to honor local cancer survivors, live and silent auctions, and the distribution of educational materials in partnership with local breast cancer awareness organizations.

Following the game, the players will auction their jerseys live on court, along with several additional autographed BHA items, to benefit breast cancer research and treatments in the San Antonio area. Last season, the Stars Breast Health Awareness auction raised $27,900.

Each guest in attendance at Friday's game will receive an I Pink For Fanbango. Fans are encouraged to honor a loved one who has battled breast cancer by writing their name in the space provided on the noisemakers. Those with a touching story to share about a loved one's fight against breast cancer are also asked to tell it on social media through the I Pink For Campaign by tagging the official Stars accounts and using the hashtag #BreastHealthAwareness.

Other evidence of Stars Breast Health Awareness Night will be seen around San Antonio as the city turns pink to support the cause. Pink Stars BHA magnets will be hid throughout the city during Pink Week, and fans can hunt for them using clues from @SAStars on Twitter. Additionally, the iconic smokestacks at the Alamo Quarry will be lit in pink from Sept. 5-9.
