Rau tearing it up with Gophers

Former Stampede forwards Kyle Rau (2010-11) is off to a fast start at the University of Minnesota and it is not going unnoticed. The freshman has played a large roll in the Gophers 9-1-0 start to the season.

Rau tallied the game winning goal on Saturday against North Dakota, scoring with just 46 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Gophers to a 3-2 win and a weekend sweep of the Fighting Sioux.

Rau is third in the nation in scoring with 15 points (8g, 7a) and was named Rookie of the Month by the Hockey Commissioners' Association for the month of October after posting seven goals and eight assists.

The Gophers could be ranked #1 in the country when the polls come out later today.
