Stampede Weekly Update: Herd Hit the Road for Two Before Winter Break

The Sioux Falls Stampede (8-10-1) travel to Sioux City and Omaha this weekend in the final two games before the Christmas break. There are no USHL games the week of December 19th. The Herd return from the break on December 28th with a game in Chicago. Sioux Falls next home game is New Year's Eve against the Des Moines Buccaneers at 5:05 PM.

This Friday, the Stampede travel down I-29 to faceoff against the Sioux City Musketeers at 7:05 PM. The Musketeers have won four of their last five games and are 10-12-0 on the season.

The Lancers are in second place in the Western Conference with a 14-8-2 record. The Lancers have won five straight games heading into this weekend and trail first place Lincoln by just one point.

Teddy Bear Toss a Success!

Thanks to all the fans who donated stuffed animals during the Avera Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday. The Stampede collected nearly 500 stuffed animals!

All the stuffed animals collected will be brought to the pediatric unit of Avera Hospital this Thursday when the players make their annual visit to spread holiday cheer to children who can't be home this holiday season.

Stampede Viewing Party December 30th

The first of four Buffalo Wild Wings Stampede "Viewing Parties" will take place on Friday, December 30th when the Stampede travel to Dubuque to take on the defending USHL Clark Cup champion Fighting Saints at 7 PM.

Fans can catch the Herd in action on all the TV big screens at both Buffalo Wild Wings locations (across from Pheasants stadium and the new South Louise Avenue location)! Remember, Buffalo Wild Wings does not take reservations so arrive early to get your best spot to see the game!

Spend New Year's Eve with the Herd

The Stampede will be home for New Year's Eve. Join the Herd as they host the Des Moines Buccaneers at 5:05 PM on Saturday, December 31st. The first 1,000 fans through the doors will receive a FREE noise maker or party hat, courtesy of Party America! Plus it's the return of SUMO HOCKEY in between periods!

McDonald's Skating Party on December 31st

Bring your skates to the game on December 31st for the McDonald's post-game skating party! Fans can get autographs and skate with their favorite Stampede players for 30 minutes, immediately following their game against Des Moines!

For non-skating fans, several Stampede players will be made available outside the Stampede locker room signing autographs. Please note, the arena does not rent skates so please bring your own to the game.

Brad Malone scheduled to appear on Inside Stampede Hockey

Former Stampede forward Brad Malone is scheduled to appear on Inside Stampede Hockey today from 5-6 PM on Sports Radio 1230-AM KWSN.

Malone became the 14th former Stampede player to skate in the NHL last Friday when he made his debut with the Colorado Avalanche. Malone had 10:12 of total ice time and tallied one shot on goal. The Avalanche host the San Jose Sharks tomorrow night at 8 PM. Fans in Sioux Falls can catch the game on Versus-TV.

Malone played in Sioux Falls during the 2006-07 season and was a key member of the Clark Cup championship team.
