
Stampede Set to Face Black Hawks in Western Conference Semi-Finals

Sioux Falls, SD - After a thrilling and historic 3-2 victory in quadruple overtime last night over Sioux City, the Stampede have had advanced to the Western Conference Semi-Finals where they will face the Waterloo Black Hawks in a best-of-five series beginning tomorrow (Friday) in Waterloo.
The Stampede will host Game 3 of the series next Tuesday, April 23rd at the PREMIER Center and, if necessary, Game 4 on Wednesday, April 24th. Game times are 7:05 PM each night. Game 5 of the series would take place on Saturday, April 27th in Waterloo.
Sioux Falls swept the Musketeers in a best-of-three series, 2-0, with the win last night. Austen Swankler's goal at 2:57 of the fourth overtime ended the longest game in USHL history during the Tier I era at 122 minutes and 57 seconds. The game started at 7:05 PM on Wednesday and ended at 12:13 AM on Thursday. The Herd defeated Sioux City 2-1 in Game 1 on Tuesday night.
The Stampede finished the regular season tied with Waterloo for second place in the Western Conference at 39-16-7, but the Black Hawks won the tiebreaker due to more regulation and overtime victories during the season (38 vs 36). Sioux Falls went 4-1-1 against the Black Hawks during the regular season. The Stampede finished their 20th anniversary regular season with the third most points in franchise history (85), fourth all-time in total wins (39) and second most in home wins all-time (23).
Tickets for Game 3 of the series are on sale now through the PREMIER Center or any Ticketmaster outlet. Tickets for Game 4 will go on sale if the game becomes necessary. Season ticket holders should use tickets labeled Western Conference Semi-Finals Game 1 for the game next Tuesday night.
