Stampede return home this weekend

The Sioux Falls Stampede will look to capture their first victory of the season this weekend when they return to the Sioux Falls Arena Friday and Saturday night. On Friday, the Stampede will host the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and on Saturday the Stampede welcome the Des Moines Buccaneers to the Sioux Falls Arena in a rematch of last year's Clark Cup Finals series. Game times are 7:05 PM both nights.

Cedar Rapids is currently 2-1-0 on the season after sweeping the Chicago Steel, 10-3 and 6-2 over the weekend. Des Moines has picked up right where they left off, starting the season 3-0-0.

BOSSES NIGHT OUT" THIS FRIDAY-

This Friday night is "Bosses Night Out" at the Stampede game presented by South Dakota

Furniture Mart. Here is your chance to get your boss out to the Stampede game with a chance to win a great prize for the office. All you need to do is to get him or her to sign up in the front lobby prior to the start of Friday's game versus Cedar Rapids for a chance to compete in a series of fun on-ice events.

We'll choose four contestants at random to compete against each other in a series of events. The boss with the most points at the end of the competition will win a great prize for his or her office.

Last year, South Dakota Furniture Mart gave away a $500 shopping spree to the winner!

FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT SATURDAY-

Saturday night is "Fan Appreciation Night" at the Sioux Falls Arena when the Herd host the Des Moines Buccaneers.

Come early and enjoy a special night with tons of prizes to be given away, starting right after player warm-ups all thanks to Mueller Pallets. Over $500 in cash and prizes along with two (2) brand new kids bicycles and a glorious grand prize trip for two to LAS VEGAS will be given away at the game!

The Stampede recently ran into the king himself, Elvis Presley and are working on bringing him to the game as well! Elvis and Las Vegas are synonymous with each other and the Stampede would love to have no one else, but Elvis help give away the trip! Make sure you arrive to the game early and listen carefully throughout the game for your chance to take home some wonderful prizes at "Fan Appreciation Night" presented by Mueller Pallets. And who knows, you may even get to met Elvis in person!

BARRIBALL LEADS GOPHERS TO VICTORY-

Former Stampede forward Jay Barriball had a good weekend for the University of Minnesota, helping lead the Gophers to a weekend sweep of Wayne State. Barriball recorded a goal and an assist in Friday's 7-1 win and two goals in the Gophers 5-1 win on Saturday night. He currently leads the Gophers in scoring with five points (4g, 1a) in three games. This weekend the Gophers will travel to Ohio State to face the Buckeyes. Minnesota is ranked #7 in this week's USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine college poll. Barriball was recently featured in a Minneapolis Star Tribune article.
