Stampede Adds Delaney to Roster

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Sioux Falls Stampede and Waterloo Black Hawks have agreed to a trade deal in which the Stampede receives defenseman Jake Delaney in exchange for picks in the 2024 USHL Phase II Draft.

Jake Delaney stands at six-foot-two-inches tall and 218 pounds and is from Glen Ellyn, Ill. The left-handed defenseman, committed to Miami University, has appeared in 29 games for the Waterloo Black Hawks during his rookie season. Prior to Waterloo, he spent last season with the Chicago Fury 18U program, 62 games, and five games with the Janesville Jets of the NAHL.

Delaney has marked five goals and five assists for the Black Hawks this season. This includes two powerplay goals with 34 shots on goal recorded. Delaney marked a career-high in goals scored on Nov. 11, 2023 against the Tri-City Storm when he tabbed two goals during the Black Hawks' 4-3 loss to the Storm. He appeared in two of the three games against the Stampede this season, marking one assist during the Stampede's Home Opener on Oct. 7, 2023.

Delaney will join the team immediately and be available to skate this weekend when the Herd travels to Fargo on Friday and returns- home for the 17th annual Sioux Nation Pet Clinic Wiener Dog races against Sioux City on Saturday. Though tickets still remain for Saturday, it is strongly recommended to get them in advance. Fans can purchase tickets through the KELOLAND Box Office at the PREMIER Center or through the Stampede office at 1111 North Lake Avenue. Doors open at 4:45 PM on Saturday with puck drop just after 6 PM.
