Stallions fall apart late as Glens Falls steals one in Saugerties

Saugerties, N.Y. -  The Saugerties Stallions (4-4) dropped an Eastern Division matchup with the  Glens Falls Dragons (4-4) 9-2 at Cantine Field Tuesday night. Glens Falls' Enrico Locasico got  the win, coming in to replace MacGuire O'Sullivan and never looking back. Locasico did not  allow a run in a relief performance that held the Stallions to three hits after the fifth inning.  Locasico also had five strikeouts on the night.    

The Stallions jumped out to a 2-0 after a two RBI base hit from Max Cotier in the second inning. 

The Stallions would only see one more baserunner for the next three innings. The Stallions  struck out nine times and would never cross the plate again in a game where they had seven  hits.    

As for the Dragons, they were able to pick up where the Stallions had left off. Glens Falls scored  for the first time in the fourth inning off of three errors committed in the field by Saugerties. The  Dragons struck again in the fifth inning when leadoff batter Nick Kondo drove in Nicholas  Carnevale to tie up the ball game at two a piece.     Glens Falls doubled their score in the seventh inning when Nick Campana scored from third on  a wild pitch, followed up by a solo shot by Kondo, hit second RBI in as many at- bats.     

The Stallions held it close until the ninth inning, when the Dragons scored five runs with two  outs. This put a damper on the comeback for Saugerties, as they ended the game unable to  score the runner on third.    

The Stallions are back in action tomorrow night as they have a rematch with the Dragons, this  time in Glens Falls.
