Saugerties Stallions News Release
The Saugerties Stallions capitalized on four walks in the fourth inning and a clutch 2-run single by Carmine Giordano (Franklin Pierce University) to beat the Glens Falls Dragons 4-3. Nicholas Burns (Dominican College) threw three innings in relief for his first victory of the season. Mike Davis (Quinnipiac University) recorded the save coming in with a runner on getting 3 straight outs, striking out 2. Taking the loss for the Dragons was starting pitcher Drue Brooks.
Sparked by catcher Andy Karlan's (Palm Beach State College) arm and diving catch to snuff a Dragons rally, the Stallions rode their pitching to their first victory of the season. Miccah Riddick (Franklin Pierce University) led the way for the Stallions going 2-for-3 at the plate. P.J. Watson pitched 2.1 innings of strong relief allowing only 2 hits for the Dragons. The Stallions are 1-0 on the season and the Dragons drop to 0-1.
