July 8, 2022 - Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL)
Saugerties Stallions News Release
SAUGERTIES, N.Y. - Stallions and Booneville went back and forth in the first two innings each taking the lead twice but Saugerties were able to take the lead and never look back.
In the top of the first inning, Booneville was able to put up two runs without recording a hit. In the bottom of the inning, the Stallions were able to answer back thanks to RBI singles from Evan Goforth and Jake Skrine.
Five walks and an RBI double from Garrison Berkley would give the Stallions the 6 to 5 lead in the second inning and would never look back.
A fourth inning homerun from Garret Michel would push the lead up to two and his night wouldn't end there as he recorded an RBI single in the sixth inning, later coming around to score to give the Stallions the 9 to 5 lead and that was all the Stallions would need in game one.
In game two, the Stallions would never hold a lead in the contest with Booneville scoring a run in each of the first four innings capped off with a three run fourth.
Stallions threatened several times late in the game, even getting the tying run up to third base in the bottom of the 7th inning and only one out.
However, Booneville pitching found a way to work around the late Stallion push giving the Stallions their 14th loss on the year.
Tomorrow, the Stallions head to Oneonta to take on the Outlaws for the seventh time this season.
