Stallions Get Five in Fifth; Take Down Dutchmen

ALBANY, NY--The Saugerties Stallions get their first win on the road as they took down the Albany Dutchmen 9-3 on Tuesday night.
The first four innings showed a pitcher's duel, with Saugerties' right-handed pitcher Coulson Buchanan giving up one hit in four innings of work while Albany's right-handed pitcher Michael DiMartino gave up three hits in four innings.
The top of the fifth inning showed fireworks.
Stallions' catcher Cody Kelly scored the game's first run on a passed ball by Dutchmen pitcher Devin Campbell.
With the bases loaded, third baseman Brandon Fish hit a grand slam over the right field wall to take a 5-0 lead.
The sixth inning had both teams score two runs. Saugerties' extra hitter Garrett Michel hit a two-RBI single while the Dutchmen scored two runs off a single with a fielder's choice by catcher Max Gebauer.
After the sixth, it was all Stallions.
Right fielder Jahlani Rogers scored from first from a single hit off the bat of designated hitter Jake Skrine in the seventh inning to go up 8-2.
In the eighth inning, shortstop Alex Rodriguez scored the final run of the game off a passed ball by Gebauer.
The Stallions will host a doubleheader on Thursday, June 16 when the Oneonta Outlaws come into town. First pitch for Game 1 of the doubleheader will be at 5:00 p.m. with the next game starting 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1.
