January 20, 2009 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL)
St. Louis Illusion News Release

In their inagural season, the St. Louis Illusion find themselves in control of their own destiny for a playoff run midway thru season. The Illusion are currently 4-4, (3-0 at home and 1-4 on the road). However, this weekend, the Illusion kick off a five game home-stand with a double header. Friday, January 23rd, they host the Stockton Cougars at 7:15 p.m. and are also in action, Saturday, January 24th, against the Kansas City Kings. The Illusion play seven of their final nine matches at home.

Also, the St. Louis Illusion Premier (1-0) plays 2 games this weekend, both immediately following the pro matches at 9:15pm vs Piasa and Springfield Demize.

The Pro Illusion look to remain undefeated at home with the veterans of indoor soccer available to play.

The road has been a different story for the Illusion. After losing their first four road trips with a younger, less experienced team than at home, the Illusion finally won their first road game in Detroit, 13-8 on January 11th.

The Illusion average 1100 fans at home games, which are played at The Game Arena in Glen Carbon, IL. Matches are extremely fan friendly with half time shows, prizes and full service at the Double 00 Bar and Grill.

Former St. Louis Steamer, Elvir Kafedzic has been on fire this season. The Illusion's 26 year old Bosnian saw action in just his fourth game of the year, but matched a league high with five goals in their 13-8 win over Detroit. He now has 14 goals and six assists.
