St. Louis, Mo.- The St. Louis Aces selected former world No. 18 Andrei Pavel in the first round of the 2010 World TeamTennis Roster Player Draft. Pavel has three ATP singles titles, six ATP doubles titles, and he finished in the top 100 nine times in 10 years. Tripp Phillips, along with 2009 WTT Rookie of the Year Liga Dekmeijere will return for their second seasons with the Aces team. Last month in the Marquee Player Draft, the Aces picked up three-time Grand Slam champion and former world No. 1 Lindsay Davenport to play 10 matches, including six at home. The Aces team also includes Anna Kournikova, who will play in St. Louis on July 17.
Three-time Grand Slam Champion Lindsay Davenport said she's "thrilled to be a part of this highly talented team. We are all looking forward to giving the St. Louis fans an exciting season of tennis with winning results."
Nine-time Grand Slam Doubles Champion and 2010 Aces coach Rick Leach says, "We have a unique group of athletes that have proven they can play and win at the highest level. Having a champion like Lindsay Davenport on our team makes us a threat to pretty much everyone."
Returning Aces doubles star Tripp Phillips says, "I am so pumped to be playing for St. Louis again in 2010. World TeamTennis is the most fun format in professional tennis and the atmosphere in St. Louis is the best in the league. Having a team with all-time greats like Lindsay Davenport, Andrei Pavel and Anna Kournikova means every match night in St. Louis will feature the best tennis WTT has to offer."

All home matches will be played at Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park. Home matches will begin at 7:15pm Central.
The World TeamTennis Pro League, which celebrates its 35th season this July, includes teams in 10 markets throughout the U.S. The Aces, who are one of three Missouri-based teams, will play a total of 14 matches during the three-week regular season, July 5-22. The top two teams from both the Western and Eastern Conference advance to the WTT Conference Championships on July 23 with the winners playing for the WTT Championship on July 25. The Aces are in the Western Conference along with teams from Newport Beach (Calif.), Springfield (Mo.), Kansas City (Mo.) and Sacramento.
