
Varvara Lepchenko to Sub for St. Louis Aces

St. Louis Aces News Release
St. Louis- Varvara Lepchenko will be joining the St. Louis Aces as a substitute for the remainder of the World Team Tennis regular season. Lepchenko will serve as a substitute in place of former world number 1 Lindsay Davenport, as she was unable to compete this season due to her pregnancy.
Lepchenko will join the Aces on Monday, July 18 and play the final four matches of the regular season. Lepchenko who is currently ranked 99 in the world in singles is not a stranger to World Team Tennis, as she served as a sub for the New York Sportimes during the 2010 season. Lepchenko has recently captured singles titles at the Goldwater $75,000 USTA Challenger, and the Grapevine $50,000 USTA Challenger in November of 2010.
The St. Louis Aces have four matches remaining during the 2011 regular season, including two home, and two away matches. The Aces travel to Boston on Monday July 18 to face to Lobsters, and then return home on July 19 to face the Newport Beach Breakers. The Aces face cross state rival, Kansas City for the final two matches to end the regular season, playing in Kansas City on the 20th, and then returning to St. Louis to close out the regular season on the 21st at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center.
