Springfield's Willie Reed Named NBA Development League Performer of the Week

NEW YORK, March 18, 2013 - Willie Reed of the Springfield Armor was today named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played March 11-17. The honor, which is the first of Reed's career, marks the third time a member of the Armor has received the award this season.

Reed (6-10, 220, St. Louis) recorded three double-doubles last week, including a 21-point, 20-rebound outing in a 107-80 win over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on March 17. For the week, he averaged 20.0 points on 67 percent shooting from the floor, to go with 17.3 rebounds, 3.3 blocks and 34.6 minutes as the Armor went 2-1 on the week. He owns season averages of 14.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.9 blocks and 28.3 minutes over 40 games, 23 starts, and has recorded nine double-doubles, scoring in double digits in 37 contests this year.

Other top performers considered include Austin's JaMychal Green, Bakersfield's Damion James, Canton's Kyle Gibson, Erie's Cory Higgins, Fort Wayne's Brandon Wallace, Idaho's Justin holiday, Iowa's Justin Hurtt, Los Angeles' Elijah Millsap, Maine's Chris Wright, Reno's Samardo Samuels, Rio Grande Valley's Andrew Goudelock, Santa Cruz's Hilton Armstrong, Sioux Falls' James Mays, Texas' Justin Dentmon and Tulsa's Jeremy Lamb, on assignment from the Oklahoma City Thunder.
