
Brooklyn Re-Assigns Shengelia and Taylor to NBA D-League Affiliate Springfield Armor

NEW YORK, March 18, 2013 - The Brooklyn Nets today re-assigned Tornike Shengelia and Tyshawn Taylor to the Springfield Armor, the Nets' NBA Development League affiliate. The assignments are the record 158th and 159th of the 2012-13 NBA and NBA D-League seasons, while the pair are two of the record 56 NBA players to be assigned to their NBA D-League affiliate this season.
Shengelia (6-8, 207, Republic of Georgia) rejoins the Armor having played in 16 games for the Nets this season, averaging 1.1 points and 3.8 minutes. In his previous four assignments to Springfield, he played in seven games, averaging 25.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 37.3 minutes. He was named NBA D-League Performer of the Week on Jan. 28.
Taylor (6-3, 185, Kansas) has appeared in 32 games for the Nets this season, averaging 1.8 points and 5.2 minutes. During his previous assignment to Springfield he played in five games, averaging 25.4 points, 7.6 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 40.6 minutes.
The duo is expected to join the Armor today and be available when the team hosts the Erie BayHawks in Springfield at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday, March 19.
