The Springfield Sliders home opener for the 2014 Prospect League season is Saturday, May 31st and it's going to end with a bang! The home opener will be celebrated with a post-game fireworks show courtesy of Country Financial as well as performances by Springfield's own Brian "The Juggler" Pankey.
The rest of the 2014 promotional calendar has been released by the Sliders and it's full of special events and other highlights. A few are noted below. The entire promotional schedule is also included.
Several special guests with local ties will make appearances at Robin Roberts Stadium this summer. Kicking things off is Brian "The Juggler" Pankey who will perform on May 31st and June 27th. Brain has been seen doing his wild and wacky act on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, Tosh.0 and more!
NASCAR Sprint Cup driver and Springfield native Justin Allgaier will be on hand during the June 11th game and he'll be bringing the #51 Brandt sponsored Chevrolet car with him.
"The Joker" from The Dark Knight batman movie as played by Cris Taylor will be our special guest on June 27th for "Let's Put A Smile On That Face" Night. Cris has been seen at comic conventions and events all across the country as his head turning performance as "The Joker" has garnered him national recognition.
The Sliders will host four fireworks nights during the 2014 season on May 31st, June 21st, July 3rd and August 2nd. In addition, the Budweiser Tailgate Party featuring New City Road Band will take place on July 20th and New Brew Night lands on June 27th where fans will get to try new beers from Budweiser.
In addition to special guests and events the Sliders also have several great giveaways planned. June 6th is Knight's Action Park Night where all children 12 and under in attendance will receive a free water park pass to Knight's Action Park. On July 5th it's Six Flags Night where all children 54" and under receive a free pass to Six Flags in St. Louis.
If that's not enough Qik N EZ is giving away a $1,000 gas card during four separate games. A winner is guaranteed each night! The dates for the Qik N EZ $1,000 Gas Card Giveaway are June 6th, June 27th, July 5th and August 2nd.
Other giveaway nights include Team Poster Giveaway Night on June 14th, T-Shirt Giveaway Night on July 18th, and Pint Glass Giveaway Night on July 20th.

If the Sliders kick the Danville Dans' butts each fan in attendance will receive a free ticket to a future Sliders game.
Friday, June 6 - KNIGHTS ACTION PARK NIGHT presented by Knight's Action Park
One of our most popular promotions! Each child 12 years old and younger in attendance receives a free water park pass to Knight's Action Park.

The U.S. Military All-Stars baseball team lands in Springfield on their Red, White and Blue Tour. Join us for a night of baseball honoring military veterans from all branches of service as the Sliders take on the All-Stars in an exhibition game full of pageantry, laughs and good old fashioned competition.
The Military All-Stars are a self-funded organization created at the request of President George H.W. Bush. Special military baseball merchandise and souvenirs will be available for purchase with proceeds benefitting the Wounded Warriors Project.

The Springfield Sliders are members of the Prospect League with teams in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Their 60 game schedule begins in late May and runs into August. All Sliders home games are played at Robin Roberts Stadium located at 1415 N Grand Ave E in Springfield, IL.
