AMARILLO, TX - The Springfield Cardinals (10-1) used a four-run 5th inning and got strong pitching from Alex Cornwell and Ian Bedell as the Cards got back in the win column with a 5-1 victory over the Amarillo Sod Poodles (3-8) on Wednesday night at Hodgetown. Cornwell picked his first win of the season allowing just one run over 5.0 IP while Bedell picked up his first career save with four innings of shutout ball.

Notables:
The Cardinals strung together six hits in their four-run fourth, the most hits they've had in an inning this season.
RJ Yeager extended his season-opening hitting streak to 10 games with a ninth-inning single.
Jacob Buchberger notched his first multi-hit game of the season going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
The Cardinals used just two pitchers for the first time this season.
Springfield turned two double plays on the night.
The Cards did not make an error on Wednesday, and have gone errorless in 6 of their 11 games so far this season.
