Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release

The Shreveport Sports got help from mother nature in a 2-0 win over the Ft. Worth Cats Wednesday night at Fair Grounds Field. For the second consecutive night the game was delayed for nearly an hour because of rain. After halting play for 55 minutes the game was called after six innings and the Sports picked up their second straight win.

First baseman Joe Dusan gave the Sports a 1-0 lead in the third inning with his second home run of the season over the right field fence. The Sports added their second run when Kevin Webster's sacrifice fly scored Jorge Alvarez from third base.

Sports starting pitcher Ryan Snyder allowed only two hits in the six inning to pick up his first victory. Snyder retired the final 11 Ft. Worth batters he faced.

Shreveport finished the initial home stand at 3-4 and will start a seven game road trip Thursday at Amarillo. The Sports will play four at Amarillo and then three at Ft. Worth before returning to Fair Grounds Field on Thursday, May 22nd against San Angelo.

Game time tomorrow night at Amarillo will be 7:05.
