Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
The Shreveport Sports snapped a seven-game losing streak Thursday as they defeated Lincoln 4-1 at Fair Grounds Field. The game was delayed for one hour 22 minutes in the first inning because of rain. After the delay Lincoln took a 1-0 lead. That lead lasted until the sixth inning when they Sports tied the game, scoring on a wild pitch by losing hurler Vince Davis. The Sports took the lead in the seventh on a two-run single by Bobby Bratton, his second hit of the game. In the first inning, after Sports starter Thad Markray had thrown just eight pitches, the rains came and Markray did not pitch after that. However, Matt Pilgreen came in and pitch seven innings, allowed just two hits and struck out a season high seven batters to get the win. The Sports and Lincoln will meet again Friday at Fair Grounds Field. Game time will be 7:05 with the broadcast on AM 1130, KWKH.
