Sporting Kansas City (5-14-5, 20 points) will host the LA Galaxy (9-10-3, 30 points) at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at Children's Mercy Park for the team's annual Sporting Salutes match presented by UMB. Tickets are available online at SeatGeek.com and the first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive Sporting Salutes lapel pins as the club recognizes local Purple Heart recipients in conjunction with National Purple Heart Day on Aug. 7.

The Western Conference clash will be locally televised on 38 The Spot with three hours of coverage beginning at 7 p.m. CT. In addition, UniMas and TUDN will nationally televise the match and provide an English-language live stream on Twitter. Radio coverage of Saturday's showdown will also air on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM.

Argyle Ace presented by Mazuma, a fundraising raffle that features weekly prizes and a progressive cash jackpot, has returned with half of all proceeds again going directly to The Victory Project. The U.S. Women's National Team will return to Kansas City to face Nigeria at 12:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Children's Mercy Park in the team's first domestic match since qualifying for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup and 2024 Summer Olympics. Tickets for the international friendly went on sale today and start as low as $25.

The 2022 Special Olympics Unified Cup kicked off in Detroit, Michigan on Sunday with 22 teams, including Special Olympics USA which is represented by two composite Unified teams: one all-male 11-a-side team and one all-female 7-a-side team. Joshua Toplikar (Athlete from Olathe, KS) and Avery Kingery (Unified Partner from Lawrence, KS) were selected to play for Special Olympics USA and were recognized at a recent Sporting Kansas City home match at Children's Mercy Park. Special Olympics USA will play Nigeria (10 a.m. CT on Tuesday) and Morocco (10 a.m. CT on Thursday) in the men's competition while facing Costa Rica at 12:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday in the women's competition.

Major League Soccer's Secondary Transfer Window, during which an MLS team may request the international transfer certificate of a player under contract in another country or conduct a trade with another MLS club, will close on Thursday. Sporting Kansas City has added 22-year-old striker William Agada and 27-year-old midfielder Erik Thommy during the transfer window.

Sporting KC II will continue the club's inaugural season in MLS NEXT Pro at 7 p.m. CT on Sunday against Frontier Division foes Houston Dynamo 2 at AVEVA Stadium. The match will stream live on mlsnextpro.com in addition to in-game updates available from @SportingKCII on Twitter.
