Sporting Kansas City News Release
After a stretch of seven matches in 22 days, Sporting Kansas City will enjoy a week off during the international break before resuming the regular season on Sunday, June 12.
Two Sporting Kansas City players have joined their national teams to compete in the UEFA Nations League during the current FIFA window. Marinos Tzionis was selected by the Cyprus Men's National Team, who will host Northern Ireland at 11 a.m. CT on Sunday in UEFA Nations League C. Daniel Salloi is part of the Hungary Men's National Team who will kick off the group stage of the competition at home against England at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday.
On Sunday, the United States Men's National Team will take the field at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kan., to play Uruguay in preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Tickets are available online and the match will kick off at 4 p.m. CT live on FOX, Univision and TUDN.
The U.S. Men's National Team will train at Compass Minerals National Performance Center (1913 Pinnacle Way) in Kansas City, Kan., at 10:30 a.m. CT on Friday and Saturday. The first 15 minutes of the training sessions are open to media for photos and b-roll only. Media planning on attending the training sessions should RSVP with USMNT press officer Michael Kammarman at mkammarman@ussoccer.org.
The U.S. Men's National Team will also conduct videoconferences via Zoom at 1 p.m. CT on Friday and Saturday. Media can register in advance for both media availabilities.
Sporting KC II will continue the club's inaugural season in MLS NEXT Pro at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday against MNUFC2 at Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence, Kan. Tickets are available online at SeatGeek.com and Saturday's match will stream live on mlsnextpro.com with in-game updates available from @SportingKCII on Twitter.
