SPORTING KC TO FACE HOUSTON DYNAMO TONIGHT

Sporting Kansas City will face their final test in a 10-day road trip tonight against the Houston Dynamo at 7:30 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast live on KSMO, KMTW and WIBW with pre-game coverage beginning at 7 p.m. CT.

Sporting KC and Houston last faced off a mere ten days ago at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park in a scoreless draw, but will meet for the first time at the newly opened BBVA Compass Stadium tonight.

NIELSEN UP FOR SAVE OF THE WEEK

Jimmy Nielsen's sliding save against Columbus Crew forward Emilio Renteria on Saturday is nominated for MLS Save of the Week for Week 19. Cast your vote before Friday at 1:59 a.m. CT to award Nielsen his fourth Save of the Week award of the season and 14th of his three-year MLS career.

NIELSEN, COLLIN AND ZUSI ON MLS ALL-STAR GAMEDAY ROSTER

Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen, defender Aurelien Collin and midfielder Graham Zusi were named to the gameday roster for the 2012 AT&T MLS All-Star Game. The club's three representatives, tied for most of any MLS team, will be available for selection to play against UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea FC on July 25 at PPL Park.

The 2012 AT&T MLS All-Star Game will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and TeleFutura in the United States, with coverage in Canada on TSN and RDS.

SPORTING KC DEFEATS COLUMBUS CREW 2-0, CLAIMS FIRST

Sporting Kansas City defeated the Columbus Crew 2-0 on Saturday night at Columbus Crew Stadium. The win marked Sporting KC's fifth road victory of the season and improved their record to 11-5-3, putting them alone in first place of the Eastern Conference.

Jacob Peterson scored his third goal of the season just six minutes into the match and Teal Bunbury sealed the victory in the 82nd minute with his third goal of the year. Jimmy Nielsen's four saves earned him his eighth shutout of the season, tying him for most in the League with Joe Cannon.

SPORTING KC ADVANCES TO U.S. OPEN CUP FINAL

Sporting Kansas City advanced to the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final with a 2-0 victory over the Philadelphia Union at PPL Park last week. Sporting KC striker Jacob Peterson opened the scoring with his header on a Graham Zusi free kick in the 65th minute before Zusi sealed the win with a 60-yard goal from midfield in second half stoppage time.

Sporting Kansas City will host the Seattle Sounders FC on August 8 at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park with the opportunity to win the Dewar Challenge Trophy and secure a spot in the CONCACAF Champions League.

SPORTING KC RADIO SHOWS AVAILABLE ON THURSDAY

Discussion around all the latest Sporting Kansas City news will be available on Thursday evening with a pair of weekly radio shows. This Week in Sporting will be broadcast live from 7-8 p.m. CT on Sports Radio 810 WHB with host Andy Edwards taking listeners' calls at 913-3-810-810. The official radio home of Sporting Kansas City this season, Sports Radio 810 WHB will also air a special one-hour pre-game show on Saturday prior to Sporting Kansas City's match against the New England Revolution at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. The show begins at 6:30 p.m. CT and will take the place of the Final Whistle: Sporting KC Postgame on Saturday.

TICKETS FOR USMNT WORLD CUP QUALIFIER AT LSP ON SALE

Tickets for the U.S. Men's National Team World Cup qualifier at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park will go on sale to the public on July 24. Sporting Club members (sign up now) have access to an exclusive pre-sale that began today and will continue through Friday at 2 a.m. CT.

The MNT concludes the Semifinal Round of FIFA World Cup qualifying by facing Guatemala on October 16 at 6 p.m. CT.

SPORTING KC TO HOST FRENCH LIGUE 1 CHAMPS MONTPELLIER

Sporting Kansas City will host French Ligue 1 champions Montpellier HSC at 7:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday, July 24 at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. Tickets begin at $20 and are on sale to the public at Ticketmaster.com or at the LSP Box Offices.

All Sporting Kansas City Season Ticket Members will receive a ticket to the match, Special Game C, as part of their full-season ticket packages and parking is free for all Sporting KC home matches at LSP.

Founded in 1974, Montpellier Hérault Sport Club is coming off the club's best season in the team's storied history, winning the French Ligue 1 Title for the 2011-12 campaign. Led by French national team member Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa (captain), as well as talented Moroccan international Younes Belhanda (awarded as best African player in France), Montpellier won 25 games and finished three points ahead of Paris Saint-Germain.

The first-place finish qualifies Montpellier HSC for the 2012-13 UEFA Champions League group stage to compete against the top clubs in Europe next season.

SPORTING KC TO HOST EPL'S STOKE CITY FC ON AUGUST 1

Sporting Kansas City will host Stoke City FC of the Barclays Premier League at 7:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. Ticket prices begin at $20 and are on sale now .

Founded in 1863, Stoke City are the oldest club in the Premier League and are led by Manager Tony Pulis and forward Peter Crouch, an England international with 22 goals in 42 appearances.
