Sporting Kansas City II News Release

Sporting Kansas City II (3-12-7, 16 points) will continue a stretch of three home matches in seven days when head coach Paulo Nagamura's side hosts Birmingham Legion FC (11-6-3, 36 points) on Wednesday night in a Central Division battle at Children's Mercy Park.

The contest will kick off at 7 p.m. CT and stream live on ESPN Plus, serving as the second of four head-to-head meetings between the clubs this season.

Sporting KC II will be looking to secure their third straight result after posting consecutive home draws against Indy Eleven and Memphis 901 FC. Forward Wilson Harris scored in a 1-1 stalemate versus Indy on Aug. 22, while goalkeeper John Pulskamp made three saves en route to a shutout in Sunday's scoreless stalemate with Memphis.

Currently in the midst of an eight-match winless drought, SKC II last tasted victory with a 1-0 triumph over Atlanta United 2 on July 10 and will be playing for their first home win since defeating FC Tulsa by a 4-1 scoreline on June 2.

Under the guidance of head coach Tom Soehn, Birmingham currently occupy second place in the Central Division and posted a 4-2 victory over Sporting KC II in the teams' first meeting on Aug. 11 at BBVA Field. Petar Cuic and Jamil Roberts scored for the visitors, while Neco Brett, J.J. Williams, Junior Flemmings and Anderson Asiedu tallied for the hosts.

Sporting KC II and Birmingham are slated to meet again on Oct. 1 at Children's Mercy Park and on Oct. 24 at BBVA Field. They previously dueled twice during the 2019 campaign, settling for a scoreless draw at BBVA Field on April 20 before SKC II claimed a 3-1 home victory on Sept. 30.
