Sponsor and Fan Support Raises Momentum
December 3, 2014 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Halifax Rainmen News Release
(Halifax, NS) : The Halifax Rainmen showcased their talent to over 5,300 fans on Saturday, November 29 thanks in part to businesses and individuals who sponsored the attendance of young fans from across the municipality.
By all accounts Halifax Mayor Mike Savage's first annual End Hunger Game in support of Feed Nova Scotia was a great success. Fans brought food items and made monetary donations to help the charity feed hungry people across the province while the Rainmen partnered on portion of ticket sales.
"The support our organization received from corporate and individual sponsors as well as Mayor Savage and his staff made me very proud to be a Haligonian," said Rainmen owner Andre Levingston. "It sure helps our players when there are thousands of kids cheering them on; it's momentum of support from all sides we appreciate and hope continues."
During the game fans were treated to live music from local artists Merimac and a demonstration of Mayor Savage's throwing arm as he tossed t-shirts into the crowd.
The Rainmen's next home game is Sunday, December 14 when they host the Island Storm. Tickets are on sale at www.ticketatlantic.com
