Spokane Shock News Release
SPOKANE, WA (January 13, 2014) - Training camp dates for the Spokane Shock's upcoming season have been set, with camp to run from February, 20 - March 8, 2014. Camp will take place at the Shock practice facility in Spokane Valley, Wash.
Camp will open on February 20 with entry physicals and begin the following day with two acclimation practices before padded practices begin on February 23.
"We have lots of things going on right now, a bunch of recruiting," Shock Head Coach Andy Olson said. "To give the veterans some competition we're bringing in a lot of guys to help make us better and take that next step as a team."
Included during training camp, but not yet scheduled, will be a number of open practices as well as a media day. Information regarding the times and dates of open practices and media day will follow in a press release, on the Shock website, and through social media.
The Shock training camp concludes on March 8 when the AFL regular season begins, while the Shock kick off their 2014 schedule on March 15 at home at 7 p.m. against Iowa.
The roster currently sits at 35 men, but will be cut down to the final 24 by the time training camp comes to a conclusion.
"I really love the roster, I think it's one of the strongest we have had," Olson said. "We have a lot of tall defensive backs, big receivers. I'm very happy with where our roster is at. We have a lot of youth on the offensive line and a lot of veterans on defense. It's going to be fun to be a part of."
Single game ticket sales for the 2014 Shock season will open the first week of February. Season tickets are currently available for as low as $90, call (509) 242-7462 for more information.
