Spokane Shock to Hold Tryout at Georgia State University

SPOKANE, Wash. (November 3, 2014) - The Arena Football League's Spokane Shock are preparing for their second open tryout event to be held this weekend in Atlanta, GA.
This Saturday, November 8th, 2014 the Shock will be at the Georgia State University practice facility (188 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SE, Atlanta, GA 30312). Day of registration will take place on-site and will open at 8:00 AM local time with the workout beginning at approximately 9:00 AM.
"We're very excited to be able to offer tryouts outside of the Pacific Northwest this year and get out into other areas of the country," said Shock Head Coach Andy Olson. "We've had and currently have a number of players from the southeast United States and expect to find some quality talent we can bring into our 2015 training camp."
Head Coach Andy Olson also has his own ties to the Atlanta area, having spent time as a member of the former AFL's Georgia Force in 2008.
Participants will be tested in the 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle and broad jump. Afterward, Shock coaching staff and assistants will lead position drills and 1-on-1's. The workout will be conducted on an artificial turf field, so participants are encouraged to wear cleats.
Pre-registration for the tryout is currently open at the cost of $50 per participant. Pre-registration will close three (3) days prior to the event. Day of registration will be available on-site at the cost of $75 per participant (cash only).

The Shock plan to also hold open tryouts at the Shock Training Facility in Spokane Valley, WA this fall and in the winter of 2015. Information and dates for those events will be released in the coming weeks.
