Spokane, WA: The mayor of Spokane, Mary Verner, has proclaimed Friday, August 20, 2010 as "Paint the Town Orange Day" in honor of the Spokane Shock hosting ArenaBowl XXIII.
In addition to the city proclamation, Gov. Christine Gregoire has proclaimed August 20, 2010 as "Spokane Shock Day" throughout the entire state of Washington.
"We're thrilled that the city and the state have expressed support for our team as we get ready to play the biggest game in our franchise's history," said General Manager Adam Nebeker.
The Shock finished the regular 2010 season with the best record in the AFL (13-3), and earned the ArenaBowl berth by beating the Arizona Rattlers and Milwaukee Iron in successive games on Spokane Tribe Field.
ArenaBowl XXII is sold out, however, 150 Standing Room Only tickets have been made available to purchase.
