North Shore outfielder Carlos Sepulveda and left-hander Bryan Morse swept the Daktronics Central League Players of the Week on Monday for the period ending Sunday, Aug. 3.

Sepulveda, 24, went 7-for-16 (.438) with five runs, one double, four home runs, five RBIs, a 1.250 slugging percentage and a .438 on-base percentage in four games. The had two fewer games because of the Northeast League All-Star Game.

Sepulveda is classified as a second-year rookie out of Texas A&M University. He hit .258 in 159 at bat with six homers last year for the now-defunct Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs.

Morse, 25, pitched a seven-inning complete game shutout on Aug. 2 versus Allentown. He allowed three hits and walked none while striking out eight batters.

Morse spent three seasons in the Florida organization after being selected in the 24th round out of Mount Olive College in Mount Olive, N.C. He went 7-5 with a 1.99 earned run average in 72 1-3 innings for Albany-Colonie in 2002.
